IPAG INTERNSHIP COURSE GUIDE
Academic Year 2012/2013
1. AIM
The aim of the course is bringing students into contact with real business world, offering them a chance to apply theory and skills acquired during the course at companies in different sectors.
Student motivation is the key to reach the objectives of this course and benefit as much as possible from it. Knowledge acquired during the course should be somehow reflected in the Final Report.
2. COURSE CONTENT
Students can choose between the two following options to take the course:
A. INTERNSHIP (COOPERATIVE EDUCATION AGREEMENT) OR JOB (CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT)
Choosing option A means student is expected to complete an internship of at least 2 months, maximum 6 months in duration, at a company or institution.
The company receives candidates’ CV and selects the one that best fits their needs. Then, the company and IPAG sign a Cooperative Education Agreement.
A.1. ASSESSMENT
The student assessment will consist of the following:
Ø Internship Report: 50%
Ø Evaluation Report by the programme leader 50%
A.2. INTERNSHIP REPORT
The following are the main topics to be included in the Internship Report:
- ACKNOWLEDGMENT (remerciement)
- INTRODUCTION
a. SECTOR/ACTIVITY OF THE COMPANY
b. ORGANISATION CHART OF THE COMPANY (organigramme)
c. PROJECT/DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AT THE COMPANY
d. KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED (connaissances acquises)
e. SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT (BOTH FOR THE COMPANY AND THE DEPARTMENT)
f. ANALYSIS OF THE COMPANY / SWOT
g. DIFFICULTIES THAT YOU ENCOUNTERED DURING YOUR INTERNSHIP
- CONCLUSION
- BIBLIOGRAPHY
- APPENDICES
The length of the written Report should be between 20 and 30 pages.
It must be submitted to the Internship Coordinator by e-mail (charlotte.wang@ipag.fr) or any other electronic form. This has to be done within one month following the end of your internship. The report should be written in English or in French.
1. REGULATIONS FOR PROJECTS/REPORTS
Regulations regarding written papers are the following:
1. Paper size to be used DIN-A4
2. Use DIN-A3 or DIN-A4 (graph paper optional) for graphics.
3. At the end of the paper students must enclose a bibliography specifying the following:
· Author or authors.
· Title of the publication.
· Publishing company.
· Year of publication.
· In case of articles, it is necessary to include the number of publication, publication date and pages where the article appeared.
4. When reproducing the text of an author, it must be written in inverted commas or in italics and a footnote with the author’s name, publication year and page where the text appears must be included.
5. Students must include an index specifying sections and subsections and page numbers.
6. Pages should be numbered consecutively starting with 1.
7. Texts should be typed in 1.5 spacing.
8. Right margin should be between 2 to 3 cms and left margin between 3 to 4 cms.
9. Top and bottom margins should be between 2.5 to 3 cms.
10. Font type: Arial or Tahoma, font size: 12. Pages should be written only on one side.
11. Information to be included in the front cover:
· IPAG Business School
· Name of programme
· Title of the Internship Report
· Student name and surname.
· Academic year.
· Submission date.
